Custom apps
Besides documents and sheets, the agent can create apps: small interactive tools — a calculator, a dashboard, a data explorer — that run inside your workspace.
How to ask for an app
Section titled “How to ask for an app”Describe what you want it to do, the way you’d tell someone:
Build me a tool to work out the sale price from the cost and the margin.
The agent may ask you a couple of things to understand better, and then builds it. The app becomes one more workspace, with its own conversation.
The app editor
Section titled “The app editor”When you open the app, you see three parts:
- The chat, on the left: you keep asking for changes there.
- The app’s view, on the right: the app running, ready to use.
- The right pane’s tabs: the app’s view, Code and Connections. The Code tab shows the app’s code, and Connections the tools it uses.
How changes work
Section titled “How changes work”When you ask for a change in the chat, the agent edits the app and you see it applied. If the change is over something important, it may ask for your approval before saving it, just like any other action.
To share it with your team, see Sharing a project.
