Share links

A share link gives access to a project without adding anyone by name: whoever opens it joins as a collaborator, with the role the link carries.

Create a link

1. Open Share workspace on the project.
2. Click Create a share link.
3. Give it a name (optional, to recognize it later) and choose the role in Access granted by link.
4. Click Create link.

The link shows up ready to copy. Copy it and send it to whoever you want.

Copy it again

In the Share links list, each link has its own copy button. For security, every copy generates a new key for the same link; the earlier ones keep working until you revoke the link.

Tip

You can rename a link from the pencil on its row, to recognize it later.

Revoke a link

On the link’s row, the trash button, and confirm with Revoke. Revoking stops every key of that link from working, and anyone who joined only through it loses access, unless they have another way in.

Before revoking, if people depend on that link, nouter tells you who would lose access and lets you keep them.

Note

If the project has read data from a connection that doesn’t allow links, links aren’t available: only the owner can add people by name.

Note

If an admin turned off Share workspaces in Organization → Data and privacy, links can’t be created or copied. Existing ones keep working and you can still revoke them. See Decide what people can share.
