Restricted data

Sometimes a project reads data not everyone can see: for example, a document shared with some people and not others. When that happens, nouter handles it with more care.

If a project has read sensitive data:

  • Always approve rules don’t apply: every action needs your manual approval.
  • Before you approve, the request warns you that the project has read sensitive data and asks you to read the full request: you are responsible for making sure it contains none of that data.
  • If the request’s description is incomplete (not everything the action will send is shown), the request tells you that too.

When you open a project shared by someone else that uses connections, nouter asks you to confirm that your own accounts can reach the data that project read. It’s so you don’t see information you couldn’t see in the original app.

In that window, for each connection:

  1. Pick which of your accounts to use, or connect one if you don’t have it.
  2. If your account lacks a needed permission, request the missing access and authorize.
  3. When everything says Ready, click Verify and open.

If something couldn’t be confirmed, the window tells you which account failed and why, and offers to re-authenticate it or pick another.
